Albert R. Hornbaker went to Dayton, Ind today where he attended the funeral of William Pierce which was held this afternoon at half two, Rev. HG Fox officiated. Mr. Pierce was the eldest son of John Pierce and is the last of that family. He was born on what was known for many years as the George Munns farm, a mile west of Yountsville which is located near the farm of Mr. Hornbaker in Ripley Township. Mr. Pierce married Miss Mary Ann Worl, daughter of Adwell Worl one of the early pioneers of Ripley Township. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce moved to Gladden's Corner in Tippecanoe County many years ago and then to a farm near Dayton, where the closing years of his life were spent. He was well known in Tippecanoe County and was held in high esteem. - kbz
